Choosing a hair color that suits you

A color that flatters you usually works with your skin's undertone. Warm undertones (skin that looks golden or peachy) often suit golden blondes, copper, caramel and warm browns. Cool undertones (skin that looks pink or rosy) often suit ash blonde, platinum, burgundy and cool browns. Neutral undertones can wear both.

Rules of thumb only go so far, which is why seeing the shade on your own face helps. Try a warm and a cool version of the same color and compare them side by side.

Is the AI hair color changer free?

Registration is free; every recolored image uses purchased credits (20 for Preview, 45 for Detail). There are no free trial images. The color guide on this page is free to read.

Will it change my haircut too?

It should not when you ask for color only. Add “same cut and length” to your request; the brief already keeps your face and background. If the cut still shifts, run again or switch to Detail.

Can I try highlights or balayage?

Yes. Describe where the color goes: “honey balayage with darker roots”, “blonde money-piece highlights at the front” or “subtle caramel babylights”.

Is the color exactly what I will get from dye?

No. The image shows a shade on your photo in its light. Real results depend on your starting color, earlier dye and the products used, so ask a colorist what is achievable.

Can I change the hair color in an older photo?

Yes, any clear photo of yourself works, as long as your face and hair are visible and sharp. Only upload photos of yourself or of an adult who agreed.
